CFP® Scholarship Winner - 2016
Michael Remedios, FPA San Francisco Chapter
Michael attended the University of Washington with a B.A. in Law, Societies and Justice with the mindset to go to law school to help people, especially those that need it most. He even worked at the ACLU on a project that was aimed at giving second chances to people with criminal records. Instead of law school, he redirected that drive of helping others toward financial planning and returned to San Francisco to help his mother start her own financial planning firm. Michael is now an associate financial planner at Remedios Financial Planning in San Francisco. He is currently enrolled in the UC Berkeley Extension CFP program and anticipates taking the CFP exam in November of 2017.

Michael volunteers with the FPA on the NexGen committee, committed to get younger people involved in the financial planning profession as well as being a member of the UC Berkeley Extension Student Advisory Board for the Personal Financial Planning Program. He has also completed a second year volunteering with Financial Planning Days and other Bay Area mini Financial Planning Days.

Michael enjoys working with his clients helping them make smart, educated financial decisions with their best interests in mind and working in an industry where he can make a difference.
