BAFEF reaches milestone of 2,000 students taught

It’s official - on Friday May 21, 2021 volunteer Maureen Recker, CFP taught our “Basics of Investing” module to Benicia High School’s grade 12 economics class, surpassing the milestone of 2,000 students taught in our program! “This was THE BEST presentation we have ever had! Thank you so much!” said BHS Economics Teacher Joan Westerman. Requests for our classes continue to arrive for Summer youth programs, and we’re gearing up to make an even bigger impact starting this fall. With nearly 50 volunteers now committed to teaching our program, we are excited about the different that we can make in the lives of these young people by teaching critical personal finance skills to Bay Area youth.
